PC Health Check & Virus Removal

Level 1

The level 1 health check include the items below and costs £30, pickup, delivery, and reconnecting the computer

Pick the PC up from your home or place of work
Clean the inside of the case, fans, heat sinks. To clean inside a laptop costs an extra £20
Lubricate fans
Make sure all the cables are attached and do not get in the way of fans
Check the motherboard for visual faults (swollen capacitors, signs of over heating, etc) Manufacturer's disk test for the model of disk in the computer. If one is not available we use a standard disk test
Test the RAM in the computer
Boot time anti-virus scan
Boot time anti-spyware scan
Remove temporary files that are no longer needed
Registry clean
De-fragment disk drives
Check that existing anti-virus and anti-spyware are up to date and working properly
Make sure all windows updates have been installed
Make sure all Microsoft updates have been installed
Make sure all other programs are up to date

When the checks have been completed we will phone to let you know what we have found, if there are any faulty components in the computer or any recommended hardware upgrades. If there are any problems that need Level 2 or 3 to fix them we let you know so you can decide what you would like to do

If no more work is needed we return and connect the PC
Check internet and printers are working
Check the internet connection is secure

Level 2

The level 2 check we find is needed on around 15% of the PC's we work on includes level 1 and the items below. It costs £50

Removal of virus and/or spyware that our scans have not automatically removed
Fixing boot time issues that require manual changes to system settings and configuration

Level 3

The level 3 check we find is needed on around 5% of the PC's we work on. It is needed when a virus infection has damaged Windows so is is unable to be fixed without reinstalling Windows or the hard drive of the computer needs replacing. It costs £75

Backup the files and settings that are still accessible on the computer
Reformat the hard disk or install a new disk
Install the same version of Windows that was on the computer
Install the anti-virus and anti-spyware products you use
Install all the required Windows updates
Install any other software that you have which is licensed to be installed on the computer
Restore the files and settings that were backed up
Return and connect the PC
Install drivers for any other hardware that was connected to the computer
